Hymen: a thin membrane that surrounds the opening to the vagina. Hymens can come in different shapes. The most common hymen in young women is shaped like a half moon. This shape allows menstrual blood to flow out of the vagina. Annual hymen :- in most newborn girls, the hymen has an annular appearance (Figure 1). the ring shape extends all of the way around the vaginal rim. oestrogen can cause the hymen to thicken (increase in depth) and also to increase in width Cribriform hymen :- A cribriform hymen is a rare condition in which a girl's hymen, the thin membrane across the opening of her vagina, has many small holes in it. This type of hymen typically lets menstrual and other fluids out but may cause problems with tampon use, pelvic examination and, later in life, sexual activity. Imperforate hymen: An imperforate hymen can sometimes be diagnosed at birth. More often, the diagnosis is made during the teen years. An imperforate hymen is a thin membrane tha...
What is the all myths.....
Team :- Ejsmond and a team of
researchers
Founded:- found in the royal tombs of Thebes,
Upper Egypt
History was made recently after researchers discovered that an Egyptian mummy, who, for decades, was believed to be a male, was actually a pregnant female.
The findings, which were published in a report last month in The
Journal of Archaeological Science,
mark the "only known case of an
embalmed pregnant individual" in
the history of the world....
Through their examinations, scientists were able to determine that the woman was between 20
and 30 years old when she died and
the fetus was approximately 26 to
30 weeks
Since 2015, Ejsmond and a team of
researchers had been conducting a
study of more than 40 mummies at
the National Museum in Warsaw,Poland
this particular mummy had been
found in the royal tombs of Thebes,
Upper Egypt
Centuries later, radiological exams were conducted,
leading researchers to believe the mummy was male.
Hieroglyphs on the coffin were also translated
around that time to reveal the name of an Egyptian
priest, Hor-Djehuty, according to the outlet
According to their report, scientists
believe the body dates back to the
1st century BCE
At this time, it is unclear why the
female mummy was allegedly in a male's coffin.
there have been previous occasions
where the mummy did pot match
the coffin it was placed in, so they were more general about those findings in this report.
It can be speculate that the mummy
was placed in a wrong coffin by
accident in ancient times, or was put into a random coffin by
studies in ancient times, which can be compared with and related to current cases. Furthermore, this specimen sheds a light on an
unresearched aspect of ancient Egyptian burial customs
and interpretations of pregnancy in the context of ancient
Egyptian religion
For example :-
For the first time, scientists have reconstructed the voice of an ancient human being, that of á 3000-year-old Egyptian
mummy named Nesyamun (as per his coffin
inscriptions)
Nesyamun is believed to have lived during
the politically volatile reign of pharaoh
Ramses Xl. During that time, he worked as a
scribe or a priest in Thebes (modern-day
Luxor).
The sound, which has been reproduced, is "vowel-like" and has been produced based on precise
measurements of the mummy's existing vocal tract. These measurements were determined by taking a
computerized tomography (CT) Scan of the mummy. The researchers then built a three dimensional model of the mummy's vocal tract using a 3D printer
and by connecting it to an electronic larynx were
able to produce an output.
Even so, the researchers write that the restorations of an exact vocal sound requires the perfect preservation of soft
tissues, which is impossible for individuals
whose remains are only skeletal. In some
cases, even if the soft tissue survives, for
instance in mummified remains, the vocal
tract can either be missing or distorted
The process,is only feasible when the relevant
soft tissue is reasonably intact, as in the case
of the 3,000-year-old mummified body of the
Egyptian priest Nesyamun, whose "in death
vocal tract acoustic output has been
scientifically synthesised,
SIGNIFICANCE :-
One of the modern applications of this voice synthesis
technique includes "giving back" vocal sounds to those individuals who have lost normal vocal fold function following physical trauma, for instance.
The process of creating three-dimensional printed vocal
tracts was based on a technique proposed by Bertrand
Delvaux.
Very interesting
